The answer to this question was received by students of three levels of higher education, scientific and pedagogical workers and invited guests during the guest lecture by Christine Cross “DNA of Leadership”, which took place on October 30, 2023 at the invitation of the Department of Management named after Professor L.I. Mykhaylova of Sumy National Agrarian University.
Christine Cross is an independent director and mentor, currently holds positions in the Hilton food group and Pollen Estate, and is also an advisor to the boards of a number of private companies in the UK. Christine Cross is an honorary lecturer at several universities in the UK.
During the lecture, Christine shared her own vision of the DNA of leadership and noted that leadership can be built into a person’s genetics. At the same time, training and experience play an important role in the development of leadership qualities and abilities.
The idea of DNA leadership provided a new perspective on how a person can become a leader.
The lecture aroused lively interest and discussion among the audience. The audience was delighted with the presented idea. Participants were interested in both leadership qualities and emotional intelligence, as an important component of leadership, and even touched a little on the personal experience of the lecturer, since Christine is a true leader, she has more than 350 people working under her, and her team is highly productive and effective.
The discussion emphasized the complex nature of leadership, as well as the importance of understanding this topic. The discussion prompted the audience to think about what is built into the concept of leadership… Genetics? Learning? Experience?
We sincerely thank Christine Cross for the opportunity, the time spent and the dissemination of her own vision and experience among higher education students and scientific and pedagogical workers of Sumy National Agrarian University.
